It's been awhile

Hello, I started college, studying Visual Art and Contemporary Craft, at the start of February and have been busy busy busy.  But here are some photos I have taken in the last few weeks.

I can't resist fungi, as you know if you have visited here before.

Kezia and I went to Max Brenners, an amazing chocolate cafe at Southbank, a couple of weeks ago.  These photos were taken at the train station.

And this was what we had at Max Brenner's - chocolate fondue and lemon and mint granitas.  It was all very delicious.

And here is our wild Charlie cat who has decided he is not so wild when there are boiled eggs for breakfast!

Rain.......and more rain

Queensland is awash.  Every time there is a small gap in the rain Lily and I rush out to walk.  Here are some of the photos we have taken today.

I bought "A Field Guide to Australian Fungi" by Bruce Fuhrer over the holidays so now I can identify some of this marvellous fungi.  This last is an earth star.

Patches of Blue

Today I saw the sky
and a sultry sun.  

Yesterday's fungi shrivelled,

 and there were butterflies everywhere.

I hope all is well with you in this weird limbo time between Christmas and New Year.  I do love to hear from people so please leave a comment if you want to.

Silver Lining

It has rained and rained and rained.  The damp is relentless and under the house is flooded including my work room.  But the fungi are AMAZING.  Here are some photos from the walk Lily and I went on this morning:

Cyclists and Sunsets

I made this haiku ages ago but didn't have an appropriate photo to go with it.... which is odd considering the number of lycra-clad cyclists that frequent the road along the river here....

Swarms of shouting cyclists

make ripples

in the molecules of morning

I just love fungi, and it abounds in these parts and causes me to appreciate the macro function on my camera even more.....

And one can't go past a dandelion:

Kezia and Lily and I headed up the nearest hill to try and catch the lunar eclipse last night.  The mosquitoes and hunger drove us away before we caught the eclipse but the sunset was awesome.

 Brisbane is very damp at the moment....

some creatures don't seem to mind

and fungi abounds, even in my own yard.
